I JUST CALL THEM LIKE I SEE THEM

wow can we talk about the first mfa acceptance of the year being posted on seth's blog? shit, son! it's ulcer season!

things i should be doing other than updating my blogspot in my shower (the one place i get wireless in this #(*&*&^@$ apartment):

packing up this @#(*&%#$*(& apartment;
finishing my final college essays (berryman let's just get married already, i'm tired of waiting);
writing a new poem, something i haven't done since the new year;
cajoling my best friend to come out and watch me down ski the mountain at graduation;
learning how to ski / break both my legs in the process.

new poem taken by the cream city review, should be out next fall. i think from now on i'll stop posting the good news here and just sidebar it, because it makes me feel a little bit like a self-centered jerk. though i guess i'm blahhhhging, which automatically makes a self-centered jerk - maybe i'll just embrace it?

has anyone read darcie dennigan's corinna a-maying the apocalypse? it sounds amazing, but i'd love to hear someone else's thoughts on it. or thoughts on anything you're reading. i just returned 40 books of poetry to the library, but i didn't find a whole lot of things i really loved. maybe i just haven't had enough time lately to really dig into a book of poems, understand it, wring it dry, imitate it, sleep with it under my pillow.  the last book i genuinely did that with was marie howe's what the living do, though a benefit was that the best friend was another ardent fan.  so hay, best friends of the internet, let's find something to adore together.

also is it graduation yet please?

Just saw that you applied to the U of MN for poetry--I'm a first year there, so if you have any questions, let me know! (Or questions about the awfulness of the waiting game, which I totally went through last year and nearly killed myself in nervousness.)
